This little piece is so special as Jesus talks of how precious children and their angels are in the kingdom of heaven.
My research: the word despise: stronger than hate: when you hate someone you dislike the individual intensely, but when you "despise" him, you not only dislike him, but you also look down on him. So when you despise someone, you consider him being beneath you; you may think that the individual is worthless.
The most difficult of all the pieces. Not only is it the largest piece I did for this collection, It is the face of Jesus. It was his courage and strength that got me through this piece. I am only the artist that drew him. It is he who died on the cross. It is Jesus who teaches us to strive to be better, to do our best, to follow the goodness everyday, to make right the wrongs and evil that are in this world. For he knew the prophecy, and still walked the journey of what only a true savior could do. My tears are forever imbedded here as I felt him with me. Telling his story.
I had such a wonderful time drawing the “Stairway to Heaven”. This is my vision of the phenomenal pathway to Heaven.
Matthew 23:13 was actually not included in the large piece of Matthew 23. It was a mistake of course that turned into a lesson. It was pulled out and not by me. Not on purpose. It was not until I had passed Matthew 23 into several hands, did I see the missing verse. Immediately this vision came to me as what I would do next. I think it funny that this was the verse not included.
Matthew 23. It is the first chapter that Jesus talks through the complete chapter. It here that for the first time that I transcribe a complete chapter. Almost. Many times little things would come up and appear to be a problem and within moments the Lord speaks to my heart and tells me what to do next. And I believe him, this after all, this is for him.
While starting this piece I am craving a colorful ocean to illustrate. My oil painting and leather past has taught me not to use that type of paint. Leather will soak up all the oil and then the pigment turns to dust. Acrylic is my preference here.
